Cribbage

Playing cribbage last night, we were astounded when the crib produced for one of us a hand which we suspect is the maximum possible score: 24. It took us quite some time to work out the score, it is possible still that someone may count it otherwise. In any case, is this the highest possible score? Comments welcome!

  1. Dennis,

If memory serves me right I think the maximum score in Cribbage is 29 coming from 3 5s and a Jack with another 5 as the turn up.

I agree with your scoring - 8 for 15s, 12 for runs and 4 for pairs.

You should buy a lottery ticket!

    Enjoy your holiday.

  2. Thanks Harry!

I think that the lottery ticket sounds the easier option than four fives and a jack!

    cheers

  3. Harry's right - 29 is teh highest score possible. (I got it the first time I ever played the game at teh age of 8 with my grandfather - and then not again for about 30 years!)

Love your photos. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

    Love Sue
